I know I've made mention of it earlier, but I'm working on the final book of my Squad Treble series. I've just passed 50,000 words and I've recently written some scenes that have been in my head for years. In some ways, I'm kind of sad. I had the initial idea for these books when I was about the same age as Cassie (14 or 15, I can't remember exactly) and these characters were my first book babies. They've grown and changed over the years (Some day I might have to post about some of those changes. Some things are HUGE) and I've grown attached to a few. It's been weird to see where I was when I seriously started writing them to where I am now. I feel like my writing has improved a lot since book one too. That being said...I NEED A BREAK. Maybe it's because my day job goes through phases where it's exhausting and I have to but all my efforts into it. Maybe it's because I have a seventeen month old that is teething bad, but I'm getting burnt out. I really want to push through and get book four done and dusted as soon as I can, but I'm back to how I felt in the fall, like I'm forcing it and I think I might need to take a step back for a few days or a week. I even tried to read what I've done so far to get a clear head and finish strong, but even that has become tedious. I'm hoping that I'll be in a better frame of mind in a day or two. The climax of the book is over so now it's just wrapping things up and tying up loose ends. I'm ready to start something new! I've got a crap ton of ideas, but I think I've finally narrowed down what I'm going to do next to two ideas. I'm taking a course on Self-Publishing that starts Monday and I think that will probably help me make my final decision. Don't worry, Semi Sweet and my Angel x Demons book(s?) will be in the mix as well, but this will be the next series I work on. So I leave you with this.... Science Fiction with a romantic subplot? Or... Dystopian with a romantic subplot?
These gifs have nothing to do with plot, btw, I just joke. :) Kay
